Overview

The InsideSales.com PowerDialer system can use a number of options to set up the caller ID a recipient sees when they receive a call. However, unless otherwise specified by a particular dialer option (in the dialer initiative, or in a specific campaign), the PowerDialer ALWAYS DEFAULTS to the phone number specified in the company profile section of the Admin tab.

The flowchart below demonstrates the various options, and how each specific option can be overridden.



 

Options

Company-wide Default Caller ID

To set up your fail-safe, company-wide ID go to:

  1. Admin Tab --> Company Settings --> Company Profile --> Company Information

  2. Edit the settings, and input the phone number into the Default Caller ID field.

  3. Click Save to update the changes.

 

Campaign Caller ID Override

This setting overrides the caller ID for ALL initiative-based calling. This setting only applies, however, if the records being contacted are assigned to the Campaign.

To set up a campaign caller ID override:

  1. Go to the Campaigns tab.

  2. Select the Campaign you wish to update.

  3. Click to Edit the Campaign.

  4. Input the phone number into the Caller ID field.

  5. Click Save to update the changes.

 

Initiative Override

This setting overrides the caller ID for all calling being done within an initiative, assuming that the caller ID is NOT being changed already by a Campaign-level override.

To set up an initiative-level override:

  1. Go to Admin tab --> Tools --> Dialer Initiatives

  2. Find the initiative you want, and click Edit on the far left, underneath the Actions heading.

  3. The first settings page for the dialer initiative will appear.

  4. In the bottom-right of the page, input the phone number into the Caller ID field.

  5. Click Finish to update the changes.

 

Agent-level Override from Within an Initiative

This setting is identical to the standard initiative override, except instead of specifying the number, you use a check box to force the initiative to use the agents' own 10-digit phone numbers as the caller ID.

To set this up:

  1. Follow the instructions listed in the Initiative Override heading.

  2. Instead of inputting the phone number, instead click the check box marked, Use agent station as caller id. Notice that selecting this option clears any data in the existing caller id field.

  3. Click Finish to complete the update.
