Advanced Search across leads and case tabs

It would be very helpful to be able to run search queries across both lead and case tabs. This would make it much more feasible to extract data from the system. Currently there does not exist a way to show a lead with a status and a case with a status that correspond. Being able to do this and mass updates those combined search results would be a great feature.
