Protect Status/Callback/Contact Info of a lead when called by someone other than the owner

If John Smith (lead) is owned by Mary Poppins, and an agent other than Mary Poppings calls John Smith. It would be a wonderful enhancement if there was a setting that we could use to denote to the system that if an agent other than the owner pulls up a record, that record (John Smith) has fields that are not editable by a user other than the owner. This would protect the information and the editing of leads that each agent owns.

Great Idea...this is very needed
I agree. This goes in the same boat concerning the limiting of editing down to the field level. Certain layouts should be restricted with view/edit mode on the field level.
