Webservice Documentation

Webservice Documentation

The InsideSales webservice is a way for companies to create their own software that can interact with the InsideSales system. The webservice is primarily for automating tasks between your own site and InsideSales, and can be used to add or update leads, deals, contacts, accounts, etc. The webservice is a highly flexible way to work with your database and still have all the benefits and features of InsideSales.

View sample webservice methods and types documentation.

To use the webservice, you will need access to the Webservice Manager, which can be found in the Administrative tab. You may need to enable the webservice manager link permission to see the page. To set up your system, you will need to generate a Security Token to authenticate your calls to the webservice.

We provide two ways to access the webservice: SOAP and REST.

SOAP is an XML based way for programs to communicate over the web. To use the SOAP interface, you will need a SOAP library for the programming language you are using. InsideSales provides a WSDL (a machine-readable document that lets your SOAP library know how to connect to InsideSales) customized for your InsideSales database. Sample code and additional documentation on SOAP is available for several languages showing how to connect to the InsideSales SOAP service using a WSDL

REST is similar to SOAP in that it allows programs to communicate over the web. One of the main advantages of REST is that it is often faster to develop for than SOAP, although it usually requires some additional work during setup to translate method calls. InsideSales offers a REST interface using JSON encoded objects for data transport. Sample code and additional documentation on REST is also available.

The webservice documentation is a great way to find out what you can do with the webservice, and details what to send with your webservice calls. It is available at:
