Fax and SMS services do not currently support international phone numbers.
Users can send 1-click outbound text messages to leads and contacts, and send a text message reminder for event owners and attendees. The 1-click text message function only applies to the mobile phone field in leads and contacts.
A one-click Send Text Message button can be added to the dialer panel, which displays a pop-up panel to users to send a single message.
SMS also works with Salesforce events. We've integrated a custom field activity field to include a text message reminder. This action works in conjunction with the existing Salesforce event reminder component, where the user and all attendees receive an email reminder, and the user receives a pop-up reminder in the CRM. When enabled this option will supplement the existing reminder options by sending a text message automatically to all attendees and the event owner.
A separate text message account has been included to allow you to track usage independently from dialer minutes and licenses. Messages can be purchased in blocks, with dollar amounts decrementing from your account according to your usage and assigned license rate.
The Send Text Message action always uses the mobile phone field for the currently displayed lead or contact.
The 1-click send icon appears next to mobile phone fields for leads and contacts. The icon is visible in both view and edit modes.
The Click-to-Call dialer panel button appears as shown.
The dial pad button opens the action panel to send a message. The appearance and functionality matches the interface for the one-aff icon click.
If the mobile number is not ten digits or is more than ten digits, a warning will be displayed prompting the user to fix the mobile phone field.
If the mobile number contains letters, symbols, or any other text that is not numbers (other than parentheses), a warning will be displayed prompting the user to fix the mobile phone field.
The text message event reminder option works directly in conjunction with the existing Salesforce event reminder. The text message reminder adds another reminder layer on top of the existing notifications Salesforce sends out.
For the event reminder function to work properly, this field must be installed as part of the standard PDSF AppExchange package.
If you are a Salesforce Professional edition user, you will need to manually add the field to the Task layout, just like other task fields.
When you get a reminder text message, it will appear in the following SMS format:
Subject: [Event subject]
When: 7/16/2012 X:XX AM - XX:XX AM EDT
Where: [Event location]

The text message account has been included to allow you to track usage separately from dialer minutes and licenses. Messages can be purchased in blocks, with dollar amounts decrementing from your account according to your usage and assigned license rate.

When enabled, the automatic recharge function ensures you never run out of SMS minutes. The system calculates the automatic recharge amount based on a rolling two-week period of usage. The recharge threshold hits when the remaining minutes reach a dollar amount equal to one week of usage.
