Once the package is installed, you'll need to complete the OAuth synchronization. This process generates a unique security token that links your Salesforce system to the InsideSales.com database. For security purposes this token is included in all data transactions that pass between Salesforce and IS.com via API, ensuring that only authorized instructions are sent and received.
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND that the person who generates the the initial OAuth token should 1) have full administrative rights to the Salesforce system, and 2) will act as the primary administrator for the PowerDialer (typically the admin who installed the PowerDialer package). If the initial token is generated by a user who does not have the appropriate permissions, some portions of the PowerDialer may not function properly.
To begin the OAuth process, visit the InsideSales tab in Salesforce. A link to this tab was added during the package installation.
The system will immediately present you with a dialogue to initiate the OAuth sync.
When the sync starts, the system performs an initial series of tasks to create and map database fields.
After the initial mapping finishes, click Continue to Authorize. Net, Salesforce will ask you to authorize the token exchange. Click Allow.
Finally the process will finish, and you can continue.
NOTE: After the initial OAuth setup, the token authorization process should never need to be run again, unless you or another administrator needs to reset the token at some point in the future.
